Being Your ‘Best Slept Self’ at Foundever!

March 21st, 2024 | Blog, Case Study

World Sleep Day is a global event that takes place on March 15th. It provides an opportunity to celebrate the importance of sleep and promote good sleep hygiene for overall wellbeing.

Foundever celebrated World Sleep Day by promoting it in a fun and engaging way. During the week, they provided useful information to help their team become their ‘best-slept self’ and raised awareness of how poor sleep can impact physical and mental health. Foundever used its internal communication tool, Ever Connect, to promote the event and encourage the whole team to get involved for the week.

In addition to improving sleep hygiene, Foundever used the occasion to promote their Global Wellness Programme and their app called Ever Better. They informed their colleagues of the in-house resources that can aid them in improving their physical health and mental wellbeing.

The organisation used World Sleep Day as an opportunity to share how sleep affects wellbeing and everyday lives if individuals do not get enough sleep…

“Sleep is essential to our physical and mental wellbeing because it gives our brain a chance to recover and regenerate and to process memories and information in a way that it cannot do when we are awake. Some parts of the brain, such as those associated with learning and memory, are more active when we are asleep than when we are awake. And the genes that trigger our brains and bodies to restore themselves are only turned on when we are asleep, so if we have a disrupted sleep pattern it can be difficult to recover the energy and other resources, we need to feel good during the day.”

Foundever also provided information from health professionals, such as Able Futures, who have tools to help individuals understand the importance of sleep for brain function and learn how to develop a good sleep routine. Able Futures also offers support for mental health, which may be affecting sleep and overall sleep health. During the week, individuals were able to apply for support from Able Futures if they felt that their mental health was impacting their sleep.

Foundever concluded their celebrations for World Sleep Day by organizing a competition on the 15th. The aim was to raise money for Comic Relief and celebrate the importance of sleep. The competition was a PJ contest that included both on-site and virtual team members. Participants had the opportunity to win a sleep hamper packed with goodies. Foundever had an excellent week creating awareness about sleep. Their images show that they had a fun and comfortable time in their PJs and onesies. They did all of this to promote good sleep and to raise money for Comic Relief.

What Foundever is doing for workplace wellbeing is amazing! Keep up the great work! We look forward to hearing more from Foundever in the future!
