"I think we could all agree that it's important to support those who have been impacted by abusive behaviour, and that those who abuse are held accountable. However, there is also a group of people who are often missing when discuss abusive behaviours, the Bystander"

Once attended, you will receive a Bystander Certificate from the Wellbeing Training Team and a chance for your workplace to sign up to the violence against women and girls pledge.

Health, Wellbeing & HR Event!


Last month we sponsored the Health, Wellbeing & HR Event with Real Ideas Organisation, hosted by The Devon and Plymouth Chamber of Commerce at The Market Hall in Devonport!

What a great event, with some interesting speakers discussing the importance of wellbeing in the workplace, from a business point of view, nutritional health to help the workforce thrive and the future of work and wellbeing for the younger generation! 
It was also great catching up with our Wellbeing Champions and meeting up with new businesses who would like to get involved with our Workplace Awards, Wellbeing Champions and our Training

Training now available for 2023!

Wellbeing at work offers a wide range of professional and accredited wellbeing training programmes to help support businesses in delivering a healthier and happier workforce.
Training is now available to be booked for 2023, with the majority being free and easily accessible - virtual or face to face.

Book Mental Health First Aid Training for February 2023!

 
Our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training course is live for 2023 with availability in February! 


Our new MHFA course will ensure that all trained MHFAiders are confident to support themselves and their colleagues and/or members in the community. MHFAiders gain the knowledge and skills to spot the signs of a person experiencing poor mental health, the confidence to start a conversation and the tools to signpost to appropriate support.

The training is grounded in research. It has been developed through an inclusive lens, with input from people with lived experience and in collaboration with clinical practitioners, learners, and workplaces. It has been an MHFAiders confidence in supporting people with mental ill health. With our new offer, training doesn't stop when the course comes to an end. We provide continuous support for MHFAiders – well beyond initial certification – so people are confident, empowered, and motivated to carry out the role.

ONS analysis shows that violence against women and girls can lead to significant and long-lasting impacts such as mental health issues, suicide attempts and homelessness.

Using the Bystander toolbox toolkit we explore ways in which we can safely prepare people to make a Bystander interaction."

We have spaces left on our Connect 5 session 2 and 3 training courses, which is a follow on from Connect 5 session 1! 

Connect 5 is an evidenced based collaborative prevention toolkit and approach that promotes psychological knowledge, understanding and awareness and the development of skills, which empower people to take proactive steps to build resilience and look after themselves. Connect 5 is a training programme designed for deep learning supporting practice change for the wider helping workforce.
An incremental three-session programme, escalating skills though each session. The programme underpins the principle of ‘Making Every Contact Count’ and supports the aim of making the best use of the skills and local contacts of frontline staff.

The Covid Pandemic has demonstrated across the UK and around the world just how fragile are the Rights disabled people have secured for themselves and how easily we become expendable.
