Healthier Beginnings for 2024: Revitalise without Spirits to Thrive!

What are your New Year Resolutions?

Whether it's reducing your alcohol intake, quitting smoking, losing weight, or eating healthier, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to start living a healthier life.

This month is all about Dry January, a time to raise awareness about reducing alcohol intake and promoting physical and mental health. Join us in taking on sobriety for a month and discovering all the benefits that come with it!

As part of our commitment to supporting positive changes in workplaces and communities, we are offering a range of resources. In addition to reducing alcohol intake, these resources promote healthier lifestyles and provide information on improving workplace and community health.

Let's work together to make a difference!

Sip, Skip and Soar into Sobriety - It's Dry January!

Let's make this month about embracing a healthier lifestyle by going alcohol-free!

With more than 60 medical conditions caused by alcohol, including high blood pressure, mental health issues, and even cancer, it's critical that we cultivate healthy habits around alcohol.

By raising awareness and supporting each other, we can reduce the negative impact of alcohol on our physical and mental well-being. This month, let's inspire our workplaces and communities to limit their alcohol consumption or even quit altogether, leading to healthier renewed zest of life!

Do get in touch with us about your plans around Dry January, we'd love to meet your team to see what you are doing and sing your praises to influence others!

How much is too much Alcohol?

Did you know that recent studies suggest that no amount of drinking is safe for your health? Even if you drink a moderate amount of alcohol, it can have a significant impact on your well-being. For instance, drinking 14 units of alcohol every week - which is equivalent to 6 pints of beer, 6 glasses of wine, or 7 double measures of spirits - can cause serious damage to your body.

Why not use the Drink Checker App below if you are concerned or just curious to find out more! Plus some more information from the NHS to help!

Brew Monday: Lets Get Together For a Cuppa and a Chat!

"Blue Monday," the supposed most depressing day of the year on the third Monday of January, is being rebranded as "Brew Monday" by the Samaritans to encourage people to connect with others over a cup of tea or coffee.

Take the opportunity to reach out to your team, friends, family, or others and see how they are doing. Listen to them, and let them know you are there for them. Remember that we all have good days and bad days, and we can support each other through both.

This doesn't have to be a one-time thing! You can do this any day of the week, morning, afternoon, or evening. As long as you are connecting with others and listening, you're doing it right. Take the opportunity to build stronger relationships today and every day.
