Know Your Measurements

This is a popular and engaging way to deliver lifestyle advice to your employees.

We use our Hi-Tech Metabolic Scales to Measure Height, Weight, Body Fat %, BMI (Body Mass Index), Muscle Mass, BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate), and Visceral Fat. Then using these results, we are able to provide further information regarding healthy guidelines for all the above and the impacts of our lifestyle can have on our bodies. We make use of these brief interventions to help individuals think more about healthier lifestyle choices and to increase understanding of our own health and Wellbeing.

NHS Health Checks

We can offer FREE NHS Health Checks for eligible people aged 40 – 74.

An NHS Health Check is a great way to get advice on keeping yourself healthy and active.  As we get older, there is a higher risk of developing heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, diabetes or dementia. A FREE NHS Health Check can help you reduce these risks and make sure that you stay healthy.

The check takes 40 mins and is based on straightforward questions and measurements such as blood pressure, pulse, body mass index (BMI) and a finger prick test for cholesterol.  During your appointment you will be taken through your results and offered advice and support on how to lower your risk and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Eat Well Programme

Eat Well is a free healthy eating/weight management programme for anyone with a body mass index (BMI) between 26 - 39.9, aged over 18 living, or registered with a GP, in Plymouth.

The programme provides an understanding of how to make informed diet and lifestyle changes, helping develop skills, knowledge and confidence to manage weight more effectively and live a healthier lifestyle.

Healthy Eating Workshop

A two hour interactive workshop that covers a range of subjects designed to motivate, energise and educate people towards making small changes. The workshop provides participants with an understanding of:

• Healthy eating based on the Eatwell Guide
• Controlling Portions
• Fats, Sugars and Salt
• Making sense of food labels
